Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris collaborated to purchase a stake in the Aston Villa football. Sawiris is an Egyptian billionaire businessperson, and Wes Edens is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Investment Group. Aston Villa plays in the English Football League, and the organization has approved the sale. NSWE, the company owned by Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris is the majority stakeholder in Aston Villa. However, the former club’s majority stakeholder, Tony Xia, retains his position as the company’s co-chairman. Tony is a Chinese businessperson who purchased the team 2016. Foreign investors own the majority of the British soccer teams.
Aston Villa heads in the right direction because it’s taking part in the EFLC, English Football League Championship. The club might join the Premier League in due process where it participated for twenty-nine years. The Premier League is the most famous soccer competition in England. Aston Villa’s exit from the Premier League resulted in the clubs loss of revenue and to make it worse, Fulham beat the club in May 2108, which jeopardized the teams’ reentry to the League. Therefore, it’s a relief to have Wes Edens and Sawiris because they would boost the company’s revenue tremendously. To revive the team, the two plans to analyze the team’s practices, players, management, and training to name but a few. Additionally, they will invest in new soccer stars to revamp the team’s performance.
